How important is worship to God?

Prayer, intercession, tithing, evangelism, and many other aspects of our walk with Christ also benefit us in many ways. But do you know what makes worship special compared to everything that we offer to God?
Worship is the gift that we can offer to God knowing that we will not receive anything back, but instead, it’s all about God.

Worship begins with love

The highest standard of love is expressed in the key verse: love – all your heart, soul, and strength.
Do you love anyone in this way?
Is it possible?
Can we love God in this way?
Yes, it is possible, but not by our own strength. We need the help of the Holy Spirit to love God with all our heart, soul, and strength.
We cannot worship God if we don’t love him. We rob him of the worship he deserves when we don’t worship.

Love will grow

Anything that remains the same ceases to develop and slowly dies. Love towards God will grow when we spend more time with him, and so will our worship to him.

Love needs to be expressed, worship is love expressed

When we love someone, it will always be expressed in the best way we can. We express love to others by calling them, texting them, appreciating them, giving gifts, caring in times of need, etc. It is very important to express our love to our God. We all express our love in different ways because the way God led us will not be the same as how God led another person. Love expressed is gratitude towards God our Father.

Worship God for who he is...

...not for what he gave us. Of course, we need to thank him, but he prefers to look at us not as our supplier (which he is) but as a loving father. Let our conversation with our Abba Father become more personal and intimate. For example: Abba, I don’t know where I would be if you had never come into my life. I love you, Jesus… and so on…

As we gear up to worship the King of Kings and Lord of Lords, what kind of offering are you going to sacrifice today?
Will it be just another Sunday?
Or is it going to be special, both to you and the God who brought you this far?
